Our services

Skåbu Tradisjonsbygg has central approval and often takes care of the entire building application process from application until the building is ready for occupation. We prepare construction drawings in close collaboration with you, so that the building meets your wishes and needs. We also coordinate the other suppliers in the building process, such as the foundation contractor, plumber and electrician. You’ll have fewer companies to deal with, and the construction process will be more efficient and coordinated.

Expertise

Trough decades of construction and restoration projects, Skåbu Tradisjonsbygg has built up solid expertise in hand-hewn and stick-built structures. The combination technique of post and log is our specialty. The company also has employees with vocational training in bricklaying, tiling and paving, and spring room certification. Skåbu Tradisjonsbygg is a publicly approved apprentice company. The expertise of our employees ranges from a trade certificate to a degree in history at university level. Skåbu Tradisjonsbygg stands out in the industry with this combination of vision and down-to-earth craftsmanship.

Timber

Post and log buildings are environmental buildings. Wood is a natural material and sheep’s wool is used between the logs. So these are not tight boxes, but buildings that are allowed to breathe. This also ensures a good indoor climate. We hand-veneer the walls, which gives them more life and soul than machine-veneered walls. Solid craftsmanship and slowly dried timber are very important for the high quality of our timber frame buildings. A timber frame cabin is a cabin for the future. With a tight roof and a solid foundation, it can last for hundreds of years.

Customer relations

We emphasize close dialogue before, during and after the construction process is completed. Each cabin is adapted to the customer’s wishes and needs. Our goal is for customers to be satisfied with our services and buildings. We often find that the people we have built cabins for come back to us when they want to build a garage, shed or guest cabin. That’s the best praise we can get. We are happy to provide references, if you wish. We have a particularly close relationship with those who build cabins in Skåbu. In this small mountain village, everyone becomes part of the local community.
